Steelhead tune by Don Shope May 31st, 2014

May 31, 2014

Hello from Southeast Alaska,

We received a wonderful note from Steelheader Don Shope this week. Don fished with us a couple of weeks ago on a sensational trip from Petersburg to Baranof Warm springs. Although Don has never written a song before he claims the trip inspired him. We haven’t put the music to the lyrics yet, but Jessica and Hooper should have it done soon. Thanks again Don for an outstanding trip and the song that closely depicts life on the Adventurous.

WE NAILED ALASKA!

Adventurous is the Mothership

Get onboard for a steelhead trip

Travis is the Captain, Jess is the Chef

The time onboard is luxurious

Tie on the flies and cross their eyes

I want to go fishin’ all day

Big fun happens on the jet powered boats

Skippin’ and crossin’ where they barely float

With Todd at the helm, he’ll get you there

Bouncin’ off logs and holdin’ your chair

Tie on the flies and cross their eyes

I want to go fishin’ all day

We nailed Alaska

From Petersburg to Warm Springs

Against all odds

We landed more than we lost

A bunch of good buds

from Wyoming and Virginia

Rick, Rick, Mick – Tom, Joel and Don

Steelhead on the fly

Rooster’s skills are second to none

He yells and cusses, but he gets things done

Up in the tree or down in the weeds

If steelhead are there, he’ll get a bead

Tie on the flies and throw that spey

I want to go fishin’ all day

Make that cast and don’t fuck up

Don’t be a dick, it’ll ruin your luck

We told tall tales ‘til we were blue

Nobody knows, but some may be true

Tie on the flies and throw that spey

I want to go fishin’ all day

We nailed Alaska

From Petersburg to Warm Springs

Against all odds

We landed more than we lost

A bunch of good buds

from Wyoming and Virginia

Rick, Rick, Mick – Tom, Joel and Don

Steelhead on the fly

Rick, Rick, Mick – Tom, Joel and Don

Steelhead on the fly
