Petersburg run September 8-12

September 14, 2013

Hello from Southeast Alaska,

Mike and Mary Riewe have been a part of the Adventurous for years now. They join us every year for not only the fishing, but the adventure of being in Southeast Alaska. Mike and Mary were joined this week by Adventurous regulars there good friend Bill and Carol Heimann  and Dick and Bernale Wright. Cruising and fishing from Sitka to Petersburg we found fish in many different areas. Stream fishing was good almost everyone managed to land Coho on light tackle and fly. Halibut fishing proved to be a little difficult, but in the end we found several nice fish!

One of the real highlights of the week was an unbelievable whale show on the fourth night at anchor. As if the sunset over Baranof Island wasn’t enough a pod of Humpback whales moved into the anchorage and began bubble feeding. It was an experience none of us will soon forget!

Thank you to Mike, Mary, Bill, Carol,Dick and Beranle for an adventure of a lifetime! We look forward to seeing you next year!
