Hello from Southeast Alaska,
I was thinking this week what could be better than fishing for wild Alaska Steelhead and came up with fishing for wild Alaska Steelhead and King Salmon in the same day! The Adventurous is back in Sitka and the King Salmon are on the bite! The Alaska department of fish and game used the word “EPIC” when referring to the potential return of King Salmon to Southeast this year and it appears they may be right. Joining the Adventurous this week was our old friend Scott Luttinen, Mike Lee, David Broadas, and Bill Vansickle. This group of anglers has spent a number of weeks on the Adventurous steel heading inside waters and decided to make a change and mix it up this year with some potential King Salmon action. We packed a ton of Southeast Alaska outdoors into the week cruising and fishing the outside coast of Baranof Island. The guys fished hard and found some great fishing.
This week also marks the last week we will spend with master guide Dan “Rooster” Leavens. Rooster is always a pleasure to have on-board and brings tremendous knowledge and fun to the Adventurous Steelhead program. Thanks Rooster for your help and instruction for what may have been the best Steelhead season yet!
