The 2023 season aboard the Adventurous was nothing short of outstanding! We once again welcomed back Blain as co-captain and our superb crew. We also had a change in the galley and welcomed aboard Jessica Hunsucker. Originally from New York, Jessica is a world traveler who dazzled us with her skills in the galley and her upbeat personality.
Our season kicked off with an amazing few weeks of steelheading. Steelhead in southeast Alaska depend on water flows, and this year, we were fortunate to have a combination of good snowpack and just the right amount of rain, resulting in fabulous stream conditions. Hiking, fishing, and exploring the streams of the Tongass National Forest are some of our favorite activities, and despite the long spring days, we made the most of every minute.
As spring turned to summer, the King Salmon bite was on fire! This season, King salmon fishing was the best it’s been in 10 years. Our guests enjoyed plenty of action and all managed to take home some of this fabulous eating fish.
As the summer progressed the ocean conditions continued to improve and the opportunities to explore, fish and enjoy SE Alaska seemed to be limitless. We enjoyed many fabulous excursions with guests from all over the United States.
The Adventurous is now wrapped for the winter as i work on upgrades and repairs. We look forward to seeing everyone for the 2024
